Job Summary:.
- The Project Head - C&T will be responsible for overseeing and managing the collection and transportation of municipal solid waste as per contract requirements, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational execution to optimize waste collection, fleet management, manpower deployment, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities:.
Operations & Execution:
- Plan, organize, and oversee day-to-day waste collection and transportation (C&T) operations as per municipal contracts and regulatory norms.
- Ensure smooth execution of door-to-door waste collection, street sweeping waste disposal, and bulk waste collection operations.
- Optimize route planning, vehicle deployment, and manpower allocation to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure timely and proper waste disposal at designated processing or dumping sites.
Fleet & Resource Management.
- Oversee the fleet of waste collection vehicles, including GPS monitoring, fuel consumption tracking, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, preventive maintenance schedules, and vehicle documentation (RTO, insurance, pollution control).
- Implement technology-driven solutions for real-time tracking and efficiency improvements.
Manpower & Team Leadership:
- Manage a workforce of drivers, helpers, supervisors, and field staff, ensuring proper role allocation and performance monitoring.
- Train and upskill teams in waste handling techniques, safety protocols, and vehicle operations.
- Conduct periodic team meetings to review performance, resolve issues, and improve operational effectiveness.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure strict adherence to Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, environmental laws, and contract agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of waste collection data, fleet movement, fuel consumption, and manpower deployment.
- Coordinate with municipal bodies, pollution control boards, and government authorities for necessary approvals and reporting.
Financial & Cost Control:
- Manage project budgets, operational costs, and resource allocation efficiently.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures, including optimized fuel consumption, reduced vehicle downtime, and efficient workforce utilization.
- Ensure timely billing, invoicing, and revenue tracking as per contract terms.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting.
- Act as the key point of contact for municipal corporations, local authorities, contractors, and vendors.
- Handle grievance redressal from citizens, municipal bodies, and project stakeholders.
- Prepare and present project reports, operational updates, and performance metrics to senior management and clients.
Qualifications & Experience:.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Waste Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years in solid waste management, fleet operations, logistics, or urban waste collection projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Industry Preference: Municipal Waste Management, Infrastructure, Logistics, Waste Collection & Disposal.
Skills & Competencies:.

- Project Management - Expertise in waste collection, fleet optimization, and logistics planning.

- Cost Control & Budgeting - Strong financial acumen in managing project costs and expenses.

- Stakeholder Engagement - Strong communication skills to coordinate with government authorities, vendors, and internal teams.
