Data Backup Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Backup Engineer to join our dynamic team.

The Data Backup Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data backup systems, ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's data.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of backup technologies, data recovery processes, and a proactive approach to mitigating data loss risks.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data backup software and hardware. Monitor and oversee daily backup operations, ensuring data integrity and security.

Respond to and resolve basic backup-related issues and inquiries.

Perform routine tests and audits of backup systems to identify potential errors or inefficiencies. Work with senior team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.

Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and security.

Document and maintain accurate records of backup procedures and processes.

Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data backup and recovery.

Participate in the design and implementation of data backup strategies for new projects.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (masters degree preferred).

Proven work experience as a Data Backup Engineer or a similar role (Minimum 2 Years experience required)

Proficiency in backup technologies such as cloud-based solutions.

Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles and methodologies

Proficiency in backup software and tools (e.g., Veeam, Rubrik, N-able, Unitrends, Veritas etc.) Rubrik preferred.

Familiarity with operating systems, including Windows, Linux, MacOS

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Strong knowledge of disaster recovery principles and methodologies

Relevant certifications in Backup technologies, MCSE (server related knowledge) Knowledge on NAS device and File servers (DFS)
