- As the Business Head for our Sports division, you will drive strategic growth, oversee event execution, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- This leadership role is ideal for a strategic thinker with proven expertise in business development, event management, and team leadership, coupled with a passion for sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and profitability in the Sports division.
- Plan, organize, and oversee sports events and competitions for educational institutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and sponsorships.
- Lead and manage a team of event coordinators, marketing professionals, and support staff.
- Prepare and manage budgets for events and overall operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, colleges, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the sports industry.
- Provide regular reports on business performance, event outcomes, and financial metrics.
- Ensure all events comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Innovate to enhance the quality and appeal of sports events.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
Revenue Growth:
- Achieve targeted revenue growth through effective event management and business development.
- Increase sponsorship and partnership deals by a specified percentage.
Event Success:
- Execute a minimum number of successful sports events per quarter/year.
- Ensure a high participant satisfaction rate (90% or above).
Market Expansion:
- Increase the number of participating institutions and enter new geographic markets.
Team Performance:
- Develop a high-performing team with strong engagement and low turnover.
Budget Management:
- Manage budgets effectively, achieving specified profit margins.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
- Build strong relationships, achieving high retention and satisfaction rates.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Introduce new initiatives each quarter to enhance event quality and participant experience.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure zero incidents of non-compliance or safety breaches.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Deliver timely reports and conduct regular market analyses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Approximately 15 years of experience in business development, event management, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Passion for sports and promoting physical activities among students.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
