Role & responsibilities

1. Vendor Management

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Regularly assess supplier performance on quality, delivery, and pricing metrics.
• Resolve vendor disputes and collaborate with internal teams (technical, quality, and marketing) to address price, quality, and delivery issues.

2. Sourcing

• Identify and source high-quality direct and indirect materials for manufacturing operations.
• Conduct market research to find cost-saving opportunities in the supply chain.
• Ensure sourcing activities adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
• Drive margin improvements through strategic cost reduction initiatives.

3. Contract Negotiation

• Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Oversee contract renewals and ensure compliance with agreed terms.

4. Process Optimization

• Review and optimize sourcing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing with organizational objectives.

5. Risk Management

• Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
• Maintain a diversified supplier base to mitigate risks.

6. Costing

• Expertise in zero-based costing for machining and sheet metal fabrication.
• Familiarity with commodity indexing (steel rounds, sheets, aluminum).

7. Team Working

• Part of a team of 4-5 sourcing professionals within the company.
• Set performance goals and monitor self-progress, providing regular feedback and support.
• The ideal candidate should have worked in the core team project procurement Team.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in sustainable sourcing and market trend analysis.
• Financial acumen and demonstrated success in cost optimization.
• Well versed with all the MS Office applications
• ERP/ SAP is must
