Application Engineer - Machine Tools

Role & responsibilities

1. Technical Support and Consultation

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, ensuring they understand the capabilities and applications of machine tools.
• Collaborate with customers to identify their specific machining requirements and suggest suitable machine tools.
• Assist with the setup, programming, and troubleshooting of machines on-site or remotely.

2. Machine Setup and Testing

• Install and commission new machine tools at customer sites.
• Perform machine tests to verify the performance, precision, and accuracy of the machines.
• Train customers on machine operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.

3. Customization and Application Development

• Develop customized machining solutions based on customer specifications and production needs.
• Optimize machine tool settings, tooling, and software for enhanced performance and productivity.
• Work on process improvements to achieve better quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

4. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting

• Provide troubleshooting assistance for technical issues related to machine tools.
• Investigate and diagnose any operational problems, providing solutions to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with the engineering team to resolve design and functionality issues.

5. Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and support.
• Offer regular updates and product suggestions to improve customer operations.
• Conduct follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and address any concerns.

6. Collaboration with Sales and Engineering Teams

• Work closely with the sales team to provide technical insights for quoting and selling the right machine tools.
• Collaborate with the engineering department to design and develop new machine tool applications and modifications.
• Assist with creating technical documentation, manuals, and product specifications.

7. Training and Education

• Conduct in-house and on-site training sessions for customers, focusing on machine operation, programming, and maintenance.
• Provide educational materials and resources to help customers optimize their machine tool usage.

8. Market Research and Product Development

• Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in the machine tools industry.
• Provide feedback from customers to help improve machine tools and application strategies.
• Participate in industry events, seminars, and conferences to enhance product knowledge and network with professionals.
