1. Counseling Services: Conduct individual therapy sessions, Online and Offline, with children and young adults
aged 13-23, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and integrating Christian principles and values.
Assess the emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of the clients through comprehensive evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans.
Provide support and guidance to the youth as they navigate various challenges typical of adolescence and young adulthood, including identity development, peer relationships, academic stress, family dynamics, faith exploration, and mental health concerns.
Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to treatment and support for clients.
Create a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment where children and young adults feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their beliefs and values.
Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in the fields of psychology, child development, and Christian counseling as they pertain to adolescents and young adults.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
As APC s Counseling ministry is entirely Christian Counseling, it is important that strategies adhere to the following guidelines: Always approach from a strong Biblical perspective. There is a lot that the Scripture
teaches on each of the "problem areas". Counselors must be able to provide Gods Word for these areas.
Always invite the work of the Holy Spirit Teach counselees (who are believers) to depend on the Lord, tap into Gods Word and
the power of His Spirit, so that a deep inner work of healing will be done. Provide practical tools/exercises to deal with problems.
2. Counseling Outreach Develop strategies to promote and make these services available to people outside the
church context. Example: Educational institutions; Workplaces; Youth; etc. Collaborate with schools, churches, community organizations, and other stakeholders to
provide outreach and support services for children and young adults.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Must have a definite call of God to this kind of Christian ministry. Bachelor s/Masters or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a
related field from an accredited institution. Final year Undergraduate students with internship and counseling experience can also apply. Master s degree or above is preferred.
An advanced degree (Masters or higher) in Psychology, Christian Counseling or related field.
A strong personal walk with God, knowledge of God s Word and walk in the Spirit. Able to draw from the Word and the Spirit, to serve people, in addition to professional counseling knowledge.
Must have been actively involved in local church life and ministry. Preference will be given to those who have been actively serving at APC Bangalore.
