Job Description :
The AVP Techno-Functional for the SQL Development team will be responsible for leading and managing a large-scale SQL development and support team. This role requires a strong technical background in SQL development, coupled with excellent leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex SQL projects and managing high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Team Management: Oversee and manage a team of SQL developers, analysts, and architects.
- Project Delivery: Lead and deliver complex SQL projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of SQL databases and development methodologies, including MS SQL, or other SQL dialects.
- Database Design: Design and implement efficient and scalable database schemas, considering performance, data integrity, and security.
- Query Optimization: Analyze and optimize SQL queries for performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements.
- Data Warehousing and ETL: Develop data warehouses and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships and addressing their needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimization and innovation within the SQL development team, exploring new technologies and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 18-25 years of experience in SQL development and implementation.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale SQL projects.
- Strong technical expertise in SQL databases and development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in SQL databases or development methodologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
- Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).
- Knowledge of data modeling and data governance concepts.
- Experience in a consulting or services environment.
Work Environment : 5-day workweek in a professional office environment.
