About the Role:
The Distribution Sales Head will lead the company's distribution network strategy, overseeing sales growth, relationship management, and operational effectiveness across a wide range of distribution channels. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to drive revenue, expand market presence, and maximize sales performance.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in distribution management, a strong understanding of market dynamics, and a proven track record in sales leadership. The role demands a results-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining long-term growth and fostering relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute the distribution sales strategy to drive growth, expand market share, and achieve financial targets.
- Lead the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) for distribution channels and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to inform strategy.
2. Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of distribution sales managers, ensuring high performance and motivation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
3. Channel Development and Optimization:
- Identify, build, and maintain relationships with key distribution partners and wholesalers to ensure optimal coverage and market penetration.
- Develop and manage distributor and channel partner networks, ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with distribution partners to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
4. Sales Execution:
- Oversee the execution of sales programs across distribution channels, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in promotional efforts and product delivery.
- Monitor the sales pipeline, track progress toward sales goals, and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Coordinate with the marketing and product teams to ensure product offerings are tailored to the needs of distribution channels.
5. Forecasting and Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the distribution sales budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet targets.
- Provide regular forecasts, sales reports, and analysis to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Implement sales initiatives to maximize distribution efficiency and minimize operational costs.
6. Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and retail partners to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Address customer concerns, feedback, and issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a positive customer experience.
7. Market Intelligence:
- Conduct market research to identify potential distribution channels, evaluate emerging trends, and uncover new business opportunities.
- Track industry best practices, trends, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within distribution management or sales.
- Proven track record of success in managing and growing distribution networks.
- Experience in negotiating and managing key accounts and relationships with distribution partners.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable sales strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of distribution operations, sales processes, and market dynamics.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and achieve sales targets.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales management software.
