Role Overview :

Advantal Technologies is seeking a skilled Linux Administrator with strong DevOps capabilities and hands-on experience in on-premises setups and telecom technologies like SIP and VoIP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Linux-based systems, ensuring high system performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting telecom infrastructure. Additionally, the role includes implementing and managing DevOps pipelines and automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities :

1. System Administration :

- Manage, maintain, and monitor Linux servers in on-premises environments.

- Perform routine system health checks and implement preventive measures.

- Conduct server installations, upgrades, and patch management.

- Manage system backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans.

2. Telecom Technology Support :

- Configure and troubleshoot SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and VoIP (Voice over IP) services.

- Work with telecom platforms to ensure seamless communication services.

- Assist in integrating telecom solutions with Linux systems.

3. DevOps and Automation :

- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.

- Develop and maintain scripts for automation using Bash, Python, or Perl.

- Utilize configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

- Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes.

4. Networking and Security :

- Ensure secure communication between systems with proper firewall and security configurations.

- Troubleshoot network issues related to Linux servers and telecom solutions.

- Implement and maintain system-level security protocols.

5. Troubleshooting & Support :

- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for Linux-related issues.

- Investigate and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth IT system operations.

6. Documentation and Reporting :

- Maintain detailed system documentation, including configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

- Generate and analyze performance reports to optimize system performance.

Skills & Qualifications :

Must-Have :

- Proficiency in Linux system administration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).

- Strong understanding of SIP, VoIP, and telecom technologies.

- Experience with on-premises setups and server hardware.

- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl for automation.

- Hands-on experience with Tomcat, Apache, HTTPD, and SSL.

- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

- Willingness to travel to client sites when required.

Preferred :

- Familiarity with telecom platforms like Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, or similar.

- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, etc.).

- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, etc.).

- Proficiency in DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Terraform.

- Certification in Linux or Networking (e.g., RHCE, CCNA).
