Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with extensive experience in mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications, ensuring they meet high performance, reliability, and scalability standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
- Implement efficient coding practices to optimize application performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe applications with other systems.
- Conduct regular system maintenance to ensure applications meet business requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Debug and troubleshoot application errors, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Optimize application performance by reviewing and improving existing code.
- Monitor system performance and suggest enhancements for better efficiency.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation for applications, including flowcharts and user guides.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and management to provide updates and gather requirements.
- Ensure that all development activities comply with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Maintain secure coding practices to safeguard data and systems.
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
- Solid understanding of mainframe environments such as z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, and IBM System z.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe development tools and platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to address technical challenges.
- Ability to think critically and deliver solutions in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
- Experience with advanced mainframe tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with batch processing and real-time transaction management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
