Job Description
MTS SECURITY FIRMWARE ENG INEER
THE ROLE:
AMD S3 security firmware team is a part of S3 Software team and works with the world s leading companies for their customized products. As a Security firmware engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and validating embedded firmware that comply with security requirements. You will be working with global pre-silicon and post-silicon teams across Software development, SoC design/verification, emulation and validation teams.
THE PERSON:
We are seeking a lead engineer to join our team that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using effective communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills. Individuals that are well organized, show great attention to detail, employ critical thinking and can drive sophisticated issues to closure are well-suited for our team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement embedded firmware encompassing secure boot, trusted operating systems, trusted applications, enabling a wide range of security features
- Develop new firmware features and enhancements within pre & post silicon environments
- Triage, analyze, debug and fix sophisticated issues and drive the resolution to closure.
- Develops and execute test plans to evaluate functionality, security, and efficiency of firmware utilizing emulation and evaluation boards for pre-silicon and post silicon testing.
- Plan, track and deliver all firmware deliverables.
- Work closely with needed key stakeholders for efficient feature implementation and issue resolution and be responsible for the commitments.
- Scope and perform quick feasibility study of new asks and technologies.
- Able to mentor and guide the team members.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 8+ years experience in hands on firmware development on ARM or similar architectures.
- Strong with C and assembly language programming
- Experience with bootloader development, secure boot, IP initialization and low-level firmware development.
- Experience with bare metal and RTOS based firmware development.
- Proficient in debugging embedded firmware using debug tools.
- Solid understanding of security concepts such as Root of Trust, symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, etc.,
- Hands on with one or more peripherals/controllers like UART, I2C, SPI, QSPI etc.
- Must have working knowledge on Git/Gerrit
- Experience in semiconductor domain preferred.
- Exposure to FTPM, Content Protection, HDCP, PlayReady is a plus.
- Exposure to scripting languages (Perl, Python, etc.) for test automation development is a plus
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Quick learning and self-motivated.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
