Job Description
Process Automation (Part of the Process Optimization Centre of Excellence) is responsible for Process Control activities at all ADM locations in India. The main task of Process Automation Engineer India is to drive Industry 4.0 and to establish effective and modern process control for the production locations by assisting and executing expansion projects, upgrade projects as well as maintenance of existing process control. This includes all aspects of Process Automation ranging from instruments to MES infrastructure.

Reporting to Regional Manager Process Control and Automation APAC. The main duties of this role will include:
- Discuss and work with site process engineers to describe the projects by means of User Requirements, State Transition Diagrams and Functional Sheets based on available Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Translate Functional Sheets and P&IDs to operator graphics and computer code used on PLC and DCS (Distributed Control System) installations. Mainly for Rockwell PlantPAx systems. Additionally, if he has knowledge of Emerson DeltaV, Siemens and Schneider systems, that would be a Plus.
- Works with Location maintenance to maintain the control system in good function and with reasonable spare parts.
- Perform test procedures of established code and graphics.
- Trouble shooting, coordinate with corresponding vendors to solve problems on the shopfloor.
- Involvement in training of plant operators on how to work with their automation system.
- Establish and continue to maintain documentation, include but not limited:
- P&ID
- Instrument list or I/O list
- System architecture drawing
- Control Narratives or Function specifications
Your Profile
The new process control and automation engineer to be added to the team must meet the following description:
- A Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or sufficient experience in automation systems.
- Fluent in English with good communication and documentation skills. Additional language Marathi, Kannada is a plus.
- Ability to program on a sophisticated level at least on one or more of the mentioned systems ( Must Rockwell, Good to Have - Siemens, Schneider, and Emerson systems).
- Willingness to learn other systems.
- Ability to work with Windows 11, Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Ability to understand and implement network infrastructure.
- Ability to communicate with local process control engineers, process engineers, supplying companies during the full life cycle of a process control system.
- Drive for results and continuous improvement.
- Ability to travel to other locations in India to support other ADM locations with their process automation environment.
