The position is responsible for leading Specialty Lab Chemicals Sales business unit focused on Pharma, CRO & Clinical Research Labs segment. Incumbent will design and implement strategy and plans based on market opportunity to grow year-on-year sales in the segment and contribute to overall revenue target of the company. Incumbent will also be responsible for developing organization by providing people leadership to the segment sales team and contributing to conceptualization and deployment of sales effectiveness processes, tools, technologies, and systems at par with global standards and that improve internal efficiencies and enhance overall customer experience.
Responsibilities will include:
Define and put in place strategic goals, liaise with business partners and stakeholders, identify new business opportunities, and deliver the sales objectives, consistently for specialty lab chemicals and products used in pharma, CRO and clinical research laboratories. Work closely with Marketing and Sales Enablement teams to develop and implement initiatives and programs to develop new customers, maximize sales potential with existing customers and penetrate new markets / geographies. Identify market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels and create execution path for result achievement (proficient in Plan, Organize, Execute, Review) Assess the competitive landscape and institute changes to the sales program in response to competitors changes. Select right people suitable for selling speciality and laboratory chemicals portfolio in different potential markets and work with a planned vision to develop a performing team. Train the team on product knowledge / field working at customers to improve individual and team capabilities and productivity. Identify and appoint the right channel partners as per the company guidelines to increase presence. Create business development plans, forecast sales targets and growth projections, and share them with concerned stakeholders for timely decision making and corrective actions. Meet existing and potential clients and build positive relationships and pipeline of opportunities. Collaborate with R&D, Quality and Supply Chain Management teams for developing and launching new products in response to market demands and constantly improving quality and on time delivery. Drive sales through channel partners to optimize the reach to all categories of customers and grow the business through proper evaluation, management, and reward programs.
Required Experience & Knowledge
Education Graduate / Postgraduate in Science; MBA is preferred.
Experience Minimum 10-12 years of work experience in handling specialty chemicals portfolio including 4-5 years of team management experience. Prior experience in life science / pharma industry is recommended. Hands on experience in team building and organization transformation from commercial / sales standpoint.
