1. The person should be Dynamic, having proven Academic Record, Research Credentials, Leadership-qualities, Administrative capabilities and who can lead the university towards achieving excellence.
2. The persons should be preferably from the fields of Agriculture/Ayurveda/ Veterinary Sciences.
3. The person should be possessing qualification and experience as per UGC Regulations (Minimum Qualifications for appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards of Higher Education) 2018 i.e. a) A person possessing the highest level of competence, integrity, morals
and institutional commitment is to be appointed as Vice-Chancellor. b) The person to be appointed as a Vice-Chancellor should be a
distinguished academician, with a minimum of ten years of experience as Professor in a University or ten years of experience in a reputed research and / or academic administrative organization with proof of having demonstrated academic leadership
4. The person should have administrative experience in the field of Higher Education not below the rank of Professor and Head of the Department in a University/ State Agricultural University/ Deemed University/ Central Agriculture University, Central University or Private University at least for 5 years or Dean/Director (in Professors grade) of University.
5. Experience of working in at least one of the statutory Authority/forums of a university such as Board of Studies, Academic Council, Board of Management, Governing Body etc.
6. The Vice-Chancellor shall normally hold office for a term of three years and be eligible for reappointment for another three years but not beyond the age of 70 years on last day of application.
7. The applicant should also be able to give an undertaking that he/she will be able to take up the assignment immediately.
