The QC/QA Manager is a member of the site leadership team and responsible for driving the strategy, management and improvement of the site Quality department including the Quality Control (QC) laboratory and Quality Assurance (QA) team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures safety in the department in day-to-day operations while also focusing on improvements to avoid any harm to people, assets or the environment
Delivers on the expectations of the Quality department include but not limited to:
- On-time availability of accurate analytical results
- Ensuring all raw materials & finished goods are of the right quality before they are released
- Working closely with Production to minimize product failures & improve RFT (right-first time) while minimizing COPQ (cost of poor quality)
- Ensure proper RCA (root cause analysis) is done for batch failures/customer complaints and CAPA (corrective & preventive actions) are identified & implemented to prevent recurrence
- Works collaboratively with peers to drive site improvements outside of the Quality Department
- Ensures processes and procedures needed for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained
- Provides direction, leadership and coaching to QA and QC personnel
- Works closely with NPI (new product introduction) teams to ensure seamless technology transfer of new products to the site
Requirements for the role:
- Masters/PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Relevant experience in Quality function with 3-5 years of experience managing teams in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of common analytical techniques and best practices
