Interview Questionnaire

7 Questions

  • Q1. Core Java Interview Questions (Google it and you'll get thousands)
  • Q2. Logic based questions for example calculation of offset in pagination scenarios
  • Ans.

Understanding offset calculation is crucial for effective pagination in applications, ensuring efficient data retrieval.

    • Pagination divides data into pages for easier navigation.

    • Offset is the number of records to skip before starting to fetch data.

    • Formula: offset = (pageNumber - 1) * pageSize.

    • Example: For page 3 with page size 10, offset = (3 - 1) * 10 = 20.

    • This means the first 20 records are skipped, and records 21-30 ...

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: This round was for basic elimination of people weak in their Java basics and of course, logic !
If the basics are sound and nothing is rote learned, it shouldn't be very difficult to crack through this.
Keeping your logic logical and honest (if you know what I mean) helped.
Tips: Keep your basics in place and logic intact.
It is important to know what you know rather than know what you don't know.
For logic building, keep solving any puzzles, aptitude questions that come to hand.
Best way to learn about a language is to code in it EXTENSIVELY !

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Saying you're favorite subject/what you're good at means you have to be the best at it.
Once you have your strong areas firmly in place, it is important to make the interviewer elicit that you are really good in those areas.
It's always a trap, a fusillade of a chain of linked questions where one wrong move can fritter away the entire journey till now.
There's a lifeline though and that is to say 'I'm not sure of anything beyond this' (Use it well and not you need not shy away from saying those golden words !)
Tips: Find out what interests you the most and work hard on developing your aptitude in those areas, to be able to answer questions that will never be asked in a straightforward manner.
All other areas of expertise which the position requires should be covered up as much as possible.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Most importantly, you need to be sure of what you have, what you want and what you think this position can give you .
Tips: Be clear in your thought process and confident in your approach.

General Tips: Work Smart not Hard and you will find a way which isn't as long as it seemed to be !
Skills: Java, Operating Systems, Networking, Data Structures, Algorithmic approach to problem solving, Aptitude
College Name: Pune Institute of Computer Technology
Motivation: Start-up with entire engineering team in India and catering mainly to the US market !
Entire design and execution decisions taken by individuals.
Enough motivation :)

Why are women still asked such personal questions in interview?
I recently went for an interview… and honestly, m still trying to process what just happened. Instead of being asked about my skills, experience, or how I could add value to the company… the questions took a totally unexpected turn. The interviewer started asking things like When are you getting married? Are you engaged? And m sure, if I had said I was married, the next question would’ve been How long have you been married? What does my personal life have to do with the job m applying for? This is where I felt the gender discrimination hit hard. These types of questions are so casually thrown at women during interviews but are they ever asked to men? No one asks male candidates if they’re planning a wedding or how old their kids are. So why is it okay to ask women? Can we please stop normalising this kind of behaviour in interviews? Our careers shouldn’t be judged by our relationship status. Period.
