IISc earned its name by maintaining discipline. IISc knows the value of time. Here everybody maintains proper time table. No delay in works. Everybody comes in time, finish work in time. Which I feel a great consistency for making it No 1 every time. I am glad that I am also contributing some % to IISc by working there.

Dislikes

Library should be renuvated with time. Which I feel should be beautiful place in the institute.

It's a bag of mixed responsibilities. As in IISc, there are more than 50 departments, so the roles and responsibilities differ from department to department for the same post (i.e.TA), it majorly depends on the department that the kind of work they do. In some department, you may have to operate high end Lab equipments, in few it could be Website mangement and development, in few it could be something else. So, to sum up it's an all-round technical job regardless of the educational background you came from. You have to learn a lot and keep upgrading. Dislikes

There are no major cons, 1. It's hard to get residential quarters.(People are more than quarters) 2. Chances of Promotion on regular positions are narrow. 3. Salary in IISc is Level 5 under 7th CPC, but in most of the IITs it's Level 6 for the same post.

As a PhD student and project engineer, professors are terrible in aerospace engineering department as managers i.e. managing work, timelines etc.

Dislikes

No clarity about project execution. Frequent delays in deadlines. Horrible attitude of professors towards students and project staff regarding work and timelines.

The exposure that people get by working in an institution is amazing. Many renowned scientists and philosophers visit the campus which is a great opportunity for the working people to learn.

Dislikes

The salary package is not up to the standards. The work culture is not good. The higher rank colleague harasses the newcomers. He doesn't know how to talk, always has mood swings, and also shouts at the newcomer.
