Uncertainty over job. Poor promotion culture where some of the associates get promoted easily and for others it is tough as anything. The perks too are being given that way only.

Favoritism is based on location. If you work with Kolkata people, they will just make use of you. They will exclusively focus on negative thoughts with you at the end of the year. 1. One and only thing is there is no project assignment system or workforce management system to assign projects based on your skills. Exception: if we have good skills and if we know how to look next assignment, there could be possibility to avoid above concern. Otherwise IBM always good choice.

The hire at a high salary thenk keep you on bench. Then they ask you to resign as you are on bench. Don't resign.

They don't have any project or requirement. They just hire you to fill their bench. You will get project interviews but none of them will hire you even if your interview was good. And if the interview was bad they will send that review to your WFM which they can later use to justify ending your employment.

IBM has turned its tech suite around after the RedHat acquisition, even for z/mainframe products. Also, IBM India is the only entity among all IBM entities to have A and B subbands till job level 7 (tech lead), effectively prohibiting your growth to a decision-making position for a longer time. Indian management, especially managers who have moved laterally from IBM Consulting, is extremely orthodox, and technically inept. If your product delivery is controlled by an onshore lab (U.S., U.K., Germany, etc), expect the Indian management to have no understanding of what it is that you are doing on a day-to-day basis, and to be at loggerheads with the onshore managers. Dislikes

Salary hike and promotions are big concerns here. Managers always brings your PMR ratio and will say that you are not eligible for hike. There is no HR interaction and everything should through PM. If your PMR is greater than 1, you'll never get a hike in your lifetime. So join the company with high package and never expect any hikes further.
