Nothing much to like, to be honest. If at all I have to add anything positive, I would say that you may have a chance to go abroad for projects but then you have to give up all your ethics and morals, play cut throat politics and ignore technical skills, do whatever the manager says, be good at back stabbing and blaming others.

Dislikes

Third class toxic and unethical work culture. Never seen such a political place. Not a place at all for people with better technical skills. I am saying this as an ex-employee of companies like Symantec, Veritas, VMWare and Cisco. Vast difference in culture, not just because of service vs product organization, but also the culture. Culture is vastly dominated by middle management people who passed out of tier 3 engineering colleges of TN, KA, WB and MH. Uninspiring. Even their offices are dull and boring unlike say Infy or TCS. Even for hardware upgrades, there is cost cutting and you need approvals from VP to add extra RAM to your machine for running specific IDEs :)) There is an air of arrogance all around. I mean, you really are not a company of good technical skills or experience, are you? The top management is rarely seen or heard, but they manage to keep the company afloat and get projects from clients. The middle management is a cesspit. Even the travel operations guy has some air of arrogance like he is doing you a personal favour by processing your visa. Oh bhai, shaant reh, I have my own PR too, and I am going for company work and not using your money. Overall this is the kind of attitude you can expect at cognizant. Even startups with much higher skills and expertise are a lot more down to earth and practical. Here in Cognizant, it is some Chennai Rajnikanth style of some bravado and arrogance. The current CEO Ravikumar wont be able to change much, the company seems to be rotten to the core since a decade now. Cognizant had everything going for it till about a decade ago when they lost direction. Not a company for polite people who like to focus on work, getting things done and solve problems. the unwanted politics amongst seniors to bully their juniors, i was kind of harassed by newly appoiinted manager. Supercedness by seniors; ignoring the situations, dedicatedly commiting on everything to the client requirement without consulting with team members who actually knows what the scenario and work is.
