So can we talk about the toxic work culture of India?

Before I begin, I want to clarify this isn't a rant. I know someone is going to say it so I'm going to preface that. We work a crazy amount of hours and are expected to be online at all times. The work place seem to have a culture where they freely accuse others of being lazy or incompetent. Managers seem to have no qualms insulting, berating, or being condescending towards their team members When things get stressful, lots of people begin yelling on the call. No one thinks that crosses the line. Lots of unprofessional, unwarranted comments about women's bodies, dress, and looks. In general, disrespectful towards others, bordering on being a bully. These are just general observations that I have observed on multiple projects and multiple teams. I am having trouble finding any places to openly talk about it. So I posted this here🤷‍♂️

People here inherently, for some reason, feel too much shame if they don’t work like donkeys day and night. I have seen it. It was hard for me to set boundaries with my clients here in the local music market too. But I learnt to put my foot down. My brother is in IT with a really chill work life balance on. High post and things are really calm. I guess the younger and new generations will bring change to this stigma around having a personal life and being able to say no.

This expectation to be available and active 24/7 and everything is supposed to be happy and accepting of that😤

This can never be changed in India as competition is cut throat and if u leave a job due to toxicity people will start terming u as weak person and make fun of u. It seems there won't be any change in the near future 😢
