Is it appropriate to give my boss a Diwali gift?😅
So my boss mentioned that she would be going out of town to visit family for Diwali. She explained it was the biggest holiday of the year and mentioned the gifts she was getting.
I thought it would be a nice gesture to get something for her and her family, they've been great to work for. Is it appropriate to give a gift for a spiritual holiday I don't practice? If so, what would be an appropriate gift?

An appropriate gift might be some home decor item since we clean the house and decorate/candles since it's a festival of lights/just a new piece of clothing.

I'm very careful about giving gifts at work, especially if we cross religious or cultural bounds. Unless we are very close friends outside of work.

Why not? I have no clue but I’m sure whatever it is she will love it.

The question is: Is it appropriate for me to give my boss a gift?🤔 It's probably going to make things uncomfortable and make this more about you than the bosses family. The only exception would be if you are the only employee and there is an inherent intimacy in your workplace that you would not find in most offices.

There should be a space between office & family. That would like extreme being close types. After months u would regret y gifted lol.
