As a Ports & Intermodal Operations Manager within our Ports & Intermodal Logistics Department, you will be instrumental in overseeing and optimizing operations related to port facilities and intermodal transportation networks. Leveraging your expertise in logistics, supply chain management, and maritime operations, you will ensure efficient cargo movement, enhance intermodal connectivity, and drive operational excellence in collaboration with stakeholders across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Port Operations and Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of port facilities, ensuring efficient vessel berthing, cargo handling, and terminal operations.
Collaborate with port authorities, terminal operators, and shipping lines to optimize port utilization and throughput.
Monitor compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and port security protocols.
2. Intermodal Transportation Coordination:
Facilitate seamless integration between maritime, rail, and trucking operations to optimize cargo movement.
Coordinate with intermodal service providers, logistics partners, and inland terminals to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation solutions.
Implement technology solutions for real-time tracking, inventory management, and supply chain visibility.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
Build and maintain relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and other industry stakeholders.
Coordinate collaborative initiatives, joint ventures, and partnership agreements to enhance intermodal connectivity and service offerings.
4. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure adherence to international maritime regulations, trade compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and crisis management protocols to address potential operational disruptions.
5. Performance Analysis and Continuous Improvement:
Analyze operational KPIs, performance metrics, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Implement operational enhancements, process optimizations, and innovation initiatives to drive efficiency and service excellence.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field. Master s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CILT, PMP) are a plus.
Proven experience in port operations, intermodal logistics, or maritime management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Familiarity with international trade regulations, maritime industry trends, and intermodal transportation networks.
