Job Description

Job Summary

As an SD-WAN Specialist, you will design, implement, and manage Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solutions to optimize network performance and ensure secure connectivity across the organization s distributed environments. This role requires expertise in networking technologies and protocols, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable network solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation: Design and deploy SD-WAN architectures tailored to organizational needs, ensuring high availability and scalability.

Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize SD-WAN performance to enhance application delivery and network efficiency.

Security Management: Implement and manage security protocols within the SD-WAN infrastructure, including firewalls and encryption standards.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity.

Policy Configuration: Create and enforce network policies for traffic management, Quality of Service (QoS), and application prioritization.

Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of SD-WAN configurations, processes, and network diagrams.

Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors to procure and integrate SD-WAN hardware and software solutions.

Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to internal teams on SD-WAN functionalities and best practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Technical Skills:

Expertise in SD-WAN platforms (e. g. , Cisco Viptela, VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud, Fortinet, Silver Peak).
Strong understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TCP/IP, etc. ).
Experience with network security, VPN configurations, and encryption protocols.
Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, etc. ).

Professional Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Project management skills are a plus.

Qualification & Experience Required

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2-5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies.

Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, SD-WAN-specific credentials, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience in managing large-scale enterprise or service provider network infrastructures.
