Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Routing and Switching Engineer to join our dynamic networking team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. You will work closely with other IT professionals and stakeholders to deliver reliable and efficient networking solutions tailored to organizational needs.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation :

Plan, design, and implement network solutions for LAN/WAN environments.
Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
Ensure network scalability and efficiency to support business operations.

Network Monitoring and Maintenance :

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
Perform regular maintenance, firmware upgrades, and configuration backups.

Security and Compliance :

Implement and maintain network security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Collaboration and Documentation :

Work closely with cross-functional teams to support network-related projects.
Document network configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference.

Vendor Management :

Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware procurement and support.
Evaluate new networking technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS.

Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade routers and switches from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Arista.

Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and multicast protocols.

Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.

Strong understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualification & Experience Required

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on routing and switching.

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent certification is required.

CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or higher-level certifications are preferred.

Experience working in large-scale enterprise networks or data centers is a plus.
