Senior Devops Engineer

Position Summary

As WebPTs Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead, design and build the next generation of our application delivery infrastructure as well as design incremental upgrades to our existing products. You will implement operational best practices for deployment, configuration, monitoring, and ensuring the reliability and robustness of our platform as it scales in scope and usage.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to point of contact for application and delivery infrastructure and all DevOps-related issues
• Implement configuration management as needed for development and production environments.
• Configure automated pipelines to build, test, and deploy services, based on product requirements.
• Work with and lead fellow developers to instrument features and services for monitoring.
• Assist engineering teams with technical and architectural requirements, focusing on repeatability and automation.
• Optimize architecture for resiliency and reliability
• Produce and update process documentation.
• Evaluate new applications and tools and provide recommendations on solutions.
• Mentor team members as needed.
• Reliable and punctual in reporting for work and taking designated breaks.
• Lead investigative efforts on a variety of operation issues.

Education and Experience

Required:

• Proficiency in CI/CD and GitLab on Linux systems, with expertise in pipeline and branching strategies
• Comprehensive understanding and strong experience with DevOps methodologies and tools, including Kubernetes, EKS, helm charts, flux, ingress and egress configurations, IAM, and queuing
• Proven track record in building, maintaining, and deploying Docker containers in a Kubernetes or EKS environment
• Strong practice of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Puppet, Ansible or similar
• Robust system and deployment debugging skills with significant experience in deploying and maintaining on AWS or other cloud infrastructures
• Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Cortex, Newrelic, etc.) and alerting mechanisms
• Proficiency in scripting languages (bash, python or php preferred)
• Solid experience in implementing and managing test automation
• Strong application development experience (MEAN, LAMP, etc.)
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in technical teams focusing on software development and/or systems engineering; candidates with a development background are preferred
• At least 4 years of experience with Amazon Web Services including automated code deployment tools
• Act as a DevOps point contact for local teams in India.
• Must be willing to work India afternoon / EMEA business hours to ensure overlap with US business hours
• Be part of the weekly on call rotation
• Participate and support projects maintenance work scheduled over weekends when required

Preferred:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional)..
• Prior work with SaaS development teams.
• Previous experience in HIPAA or PCI environments.
