Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Head/ Manager to focus on New business development for our Advertising company specializing in FMCG & Pharma. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving growth and establishing strong relationships within the pharma industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategies for client acquisition, and nurturing leads into long-term partnerships with pharmaceutical companies.

Key Responsibilities:


  • New Business Acquisition:
    • Actively prospect and identify new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry, targeting pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, medical device manufacturers, and related organizations.
    • Leverage market intelligence, research, networking, and industry connections to generate leads and expand the company’s client base.
    • Build a strong pipeline of potential clients through cold calling, attending industry conferences, and utilizing social media and other outreach methods.
    • Develop high-quality proposals, presentations, and RFP responses that communicate value propositions effectively.

  • Lead Generation & Qualification:
    • Qualify leads through initial consultations, identifying client needs, and evaluating their suitability for the company’s advertising services.
    • Effectively articulate the value proposition of our services to pharmaceutical clients, including digital marketing, media planning, and regulatory-compliant advertising solutions.

  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive new business development strategy to meet revenue targets and growth objectives in the pharmaceutical advertising space.
    • Create tailored proposals, presentations, and sales pitches for prospective clients, addressing their specific challenges and objectives.
    • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to contract negotiation and closing new business deals.

  • Client Relationship Building:
    • Establish trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within pharmaceutical companies.
    • Understand the clients’ marketing needs, challenges, and goals, and work with internal teams to design customized advertising campaigns.
    • Develop long-term business relationships by consistently exceeding client expectations and fostering high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Market Research & Insights:
    • Conduct detailed market research to stay informed about trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities in the pharmaceutical advertising industry.
    • Monitor regulatory changes within the pharmaceutical sector and incorporate these into sales strategies and client offerings.

  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    • Work closely with creative, media, and strategy teams to ensure proposals and campaigns meet client requirements, timelines, and industry regulations.
    • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of new business initiatives and client onboarding processes.

  • Performance Tracking & Reporting:
    • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, sales activities, and pipeline progress.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on new business development activities, successes, challenges, and growth opportunities.
    • Use CRM tools to track interactions, sales progress, and forecasts.

Key Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Advertising, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
    • MBA or other advanced degrees are a plus.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 05 to 07 (Manager position), 10 to12 (Head position) years of experience in new business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the advertising, marketing, or pharmaceutical advertising industries.
    • Proven success in identifying and acquiring new business, with a strong track record of closing deals and exceeding sales targets.
    • Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations (e.g., FDA, DTC advertising rules) and the ability to navigate complex client requirements.

  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling proposals and deliver impactful presentations.
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and close high-value contracts.
    • Ability to build relationships with key decision-makers within pharmaceutical companies.
    • Should possess knowledge in using CRM software.
    • Knowledge of digital marketing, media planning, and emerging advertising technologies is a plus.

  • Personal Attributes:
    • Highly driven and self-motivated with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding goals.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Adaptability to changing market conditions and the ability to innovate in client engagement strategies.
