Network Engineer - Routing & Switching (1-3 yrs)

Role : Network Engineer.

Experience : 1 to 3 years.

Shift : 7 : 30 pm to 4 : 30 am IST.

Working Days : 5 days per week.

Location : Begumpet, Hyderabad.

Mode : WFO.

Role Description :

This is a full-time position for a Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Network Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our network infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

Network Installation and Configuration :

- Install, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

- Configure and manage VLANs, VPNs, and other network services.

- Deploy and configure network monitoring tools.

Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting :

- Monitor network performance and identify potential issues.

- Troubleshoot network problems and resolve them in a timely manner.

- Perform routine network maintenance tasks, such as firmware upgrades and security patches.

- Document network configurations and procedures.

Network Security :

- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control lists.

- Monitor network traffic for security threats and anomalies.

- Assist in security audits.

Network Documentation :

- Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation.

- Document all network changes and troubleshooting activities.

- Maintain an accurate inventory of network hardware and software.

Technical Support :

- Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues.

- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers as needed.

- Work with vendors for hardware or software support.

Collaboration :

- Work with other IT team members to ensure network stability and efficiency.

- Participate in team meetings and contribute to network planning and design.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 1-3 years of experience in network administration or engineering.

- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.).

- Experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.

- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix).

- Basic knowledge of network security principles and practices.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Certifications like CCNA are a plus.
