Manager /Dy. Manager / Asst. Manager - Maintenance (Machine Shop)

Job Purpose:

The Manager - Maintenance is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning, reliability, and efficiency of all CNC/VMC machines and other equipment in the machine shop. The role involves overseeing preventive and breakdown maintenance, improving equipment performance, ensuring minimal downtime, and leading the maintenance team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Planning & Execution:

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules for CNC/VMC machines and other equipment in the machine shop.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in CNC/VMC machines, lathes, and other machining equipment.
• Minimize machine downtime by ensuring quick response to breakdowns and effective problem resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, downtime analysis, and root cause analysis reports.

2. Equipment Efficiency & Performance Improvement:

• Monitor machine performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure calibration and periodic validation of critical machinery to maintain accuracy and quality standards.
• Identify and implement automation solutions where applicable to improve manufacturing efficiency.

3. Team Leadership & Development:

• Supervise, mentor, and train the maintenance team, ensuring skill development and effective workforce planning.
• Set performance expectations and conduct regular reviews to drive accountability and improvement.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning within the maintenance department.

4. Spare Parts & Inventory Management:

• Ensure proper stock management of spare parts, tools, and consumables to avoid production delays.
• Optimize maintenance costs through effective spare parts utilization.

5. Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Implement safety protocols and conduct periodic audits to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain compliance with statutory regulations related to machine maintenance and industrial safety.
