Senior Manager - Finance and Accounting

Job Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting to join our team in Mumbai.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall Accounting, Compliance and Legal operations, including financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, audits, reconciliations and legal matters.
• The Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting will also play a key role in assisting CFO to drive business growth and improving financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and compliant financial records, ensuring adherence to accounting standards (e.g., IGAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements
• Oversee the timely and accurate closure of monthly accounts, followed by a comprehensive review of the Profit & Loss statement and Balance Sheet with the CFO and team
• Prepare and submit regular Management Information System (MIS) reports to support local and HQ reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission in line with scheduled deadlines
• Perform monthly reconciliations, always ensuring accuracy and cleanliness of financial records
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of year-end financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Lead and coordinate financial audits, including Statutory Audits and Tax Audits, ensuring timely completion within stipulated deadlines
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including income tax, GST, and other relevant taxes
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to minimize tax risks and keep all India team updated
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including filings of Companies Act and attending to notices from government authorities
• Collaborate with legal consultants to finalise company agreements and assist in resolving legal cases
• Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Foster and maintain relationships with external consultants, including tax advisors, company secretaries and auditors

Requirements:

• Professional qualification - CA (must) + CS (preferred)
• Minimum 8-10 years of post-qualification experience
• Proven track record of leading finance and accounting teams, setting performance goals and conducting performance reviews
• Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of Accounting Standards, tax laws, and financial reporting requirements
• Knowledge of Companies Act related matters including, related compliances, coordinating for board meetings, preparing relevant documents, liasioning with consultants etc.
• Experience working on different Accounting ERPs
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think strategically, drive change and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
