Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our finance team. This role will focus on ensuring the accurate and timely application of customer payments to the appropriate accounts, as well as assisting in managing cash flow and reconciling accounts receivable.

Accurately apply customer payments (checks, ACH, credit card payments, etc.) to the correct accounts in a timely manner.

Review remittance advice and payment details to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Reconcile cash application records with accounts receivable balances.

Communicate with customers and internal departments to resolve payment discrepancies or issues.

Process and review unapplied cash, ensuring it is resolved promptly.

Prepare reports for management on cash application activities, including identifying trends and discrepancies.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

Work closely with the collections and accounting teams to ensure that all outstanding payments are addressed.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to cash receipts and accounts receivable.

Continuously improve cash application processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience).

7-9 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or finance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software SAP

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
