Industrial Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Role objective: It involves responsibilities related to the design, improvement, and optimization of manufacturing processes, production lines, and plant layouts to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safe, smooth operations

1) Production Line Layout Design:

• Develop and design efficient production line layouts to maximize workflow, reduce waste, and optimize space usage.
• Plan equipment placement, workstation arrangements, and material flow to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
• Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in line layouts.
• Machine shifting & relayouting

2) Project Management:

• Manage and oversee layout redesign or plant optimization projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Develop cost estimates for changes to layouts or processes and justify investments to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and industry standards during all phases of layout and process planning.

3) Equipment & Tool Selection:

• Ensure equipment is compatible with the designed layout and that operators can work effectively within the space constraints.

4) Ergonomics & safety:

• Ensure that the layout complies with safety standards and enhances the ergonomic experience for workers.
• Implement and monitor safety measures to reduce risks associated with manual handling, machinery, and other work hazards.

5) Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare detailed documentation, including floor plans, schematics, and layout designs.
• Report on performance improvements, changes made, and their impact on production efficiency.
• Maintain records of all layout and process improvement projects for future reference.

Preferred candidate profile

Academic must be throughout 60% (minimum)

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout and design.
• Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, process flow, and equipment handling
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Gantt charts, PERT diagrams, etc.).
