Database Administrator

Role & responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize databases (relational and/or NoSQL).
• Implement and monitor database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Design and optimize database schemas to ensure scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators within a DevOps environment.
• Automate database deployments and maintenance tasks through CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify and resolve database performance issues proactively.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to database best practices and standards.
• Support database migration, version upgrades, and patching.

Preferred candidate profile

• 1-3 years of experience as a DBA or related role.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Basic understanding and experience with DevOps tools and methodologies (CI/CD pipelines, automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of modern database design principles, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in scripting (SQL, Bash, Python, etc.).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in database technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP Database certifications).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.

Educational Qualifications:
