Senior Android Engineer

startups, to market leaders launching new business models. We make it easy for

businesses to accept secure payments from multiple local and global payment

channels, and then we provide tools to help you retain existing customers, and

acquire new ones.

You will be expected to:

• Work in a cross-functional team to design, build and deliver new features for our Android apps
• Write reliable and maintainable Kotlin code (the bulk of your time will be spent doing this)
• Participate in code reviews with other engineers
• You will have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and contribute to our engineering guidelines for the Android competency at Paystack

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• A passion for building products to help African businesses
• A proactive approach to solve a problem before it has occurred
• Extensive knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and best practices
• Thorough understanding of the complete mobile development life cycle deep understanding of the Android platform, relevant Android libraries and frameworks
• Sufficient experience building native Android apps using Kotlin
• A passion for UX/UI design
• Sufficient experience with build tools, like Gradle
• Sufficient experience with source control, like Git
• Experience in writing unit, integration and UI tests
• A good understanding of automated testing for continuous delivery
• Good communication skills
• Self-motivation that drives them to do things and pushes them to raise the bar
• High analytical thinking to tackle complicated issues
• High-quality working standards with a clear structured approach
