The Civil Engineer Supervisor in a real estate firm is responsible for overseeing and supervising all civil engineering activities on real estate development projects. This includes managing the design, planning, and construction of infrastructure, ensuring quality standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires coordination with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning & Execution :
Oversee the design and construction of infrastructure related to real estate development projects, including roads, drainage systems, foundations, and utilities.
Ensure civil engineering projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Supervision of Civil Works :
Supervise all on-site civil works, including excavation, foundation laying, concrete works, and structural elements.
Monitor progress, quality of materials, and adherence to engineering standards and specifications.
Ensure that all construction activities comply with safety and environmental standards.
Coordination with Stakeholders :
Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers to align engineering plans with overall project objectives.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure efficient project execution.
Quality Control & Inspections :
Perform regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met and all works are executed according to the approved plans and specifications.
Identify any deviations from the original design and propose corrective measures as needed.
Ensure that testing of materials such as concrete and steel is conducted to ensure structural integrity.
Budget & Resource Management :
Monitor civil engineering costs and resource allocation to ensure the project stays within budget.
Assist in preparing cost estimates and procurement of civil works materials, equipment, and labor.
Regulatory Compliance & Permits :
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, zoning laws, and regulatory requirements.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities for various phases of civil works.
Documentation & Reporting :
Prepare and maintain detailed records of project progress, including daily logs, reports, and site photos.
Provide regular updates to project management on construction progress, delays, and issues.
Generate reports for management and stakeholders highlighting key milestones and any areas of concern.
Team Leadership & Training :
Lead, mentor, and supervise junior civil engineers, site supervisors, and construction workers.
Ensure that all team members are adequately trained on the latest construction techniques and safety protocols.
Education : Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Licenses/Certifications : Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is desirable.
Experience : 5-7 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with real estate or large-scale construction projects.
