The Man Material Hoist Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the hoist, ensuring the transportation of personnel and materials to different levels of a construction site. The operator must follow all safety protocols, maintain the equipment, and ensure compliance with site regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hoist Operation:
Operate the man and material hoist safely as per manufacturer guidelines.
Control the movement of the hoist for lifting workers, tools, and construction materials .
Follow weight capacity limits and prevent overloading.
Maintain smooth operation to avoid sudden jerks or accidents.
2. Safety Compliance:
Ensure workers wear proper safety gear before using the hoist.
Conduct daily safety checks on the hoist before starting operations.
Follow all site safety regulations and emergency procedures .
Report any malfunctions or hazards to the site supervisor immediately.
3. Maintenance & Inspection:
Perform routine checks on the hoist s motor, brakes, cables, and controls.
Keep a log of maintenance and inspections for safety audits.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for servicing and repairs.
4. Communication & Coordination:
Maintain clear communication with ground staff, crane operators, and site engineers .
Use hand signals or radio communication for smooth coordination.
Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials and workers.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications & Experience:
10th Pass or Equivalent (Preferred but not mandatory).
Valid Hoist Operator License/Certification (if required by local regulations).
Minimum 2-5 years of experience operating man material hoists in construction.
2. Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of hoist mechanics and controls .
Knowledge of safety procedures and emergency handling .
Good hand-eye coordination and reflexes .
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
3. Physical Requirements:
Physically fit to work in a construction site environment.
Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions .
Work Conditions:
Outdoor construction sites with exposure to dust, noise, and weather.
Shift-based work , including extended hours during project deadlines.
