Job Description:
The Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing business requirements. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate those needs into actionable solutions. The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in the full project lifecycle, from initial scoping and requirements gathering to testing and implementation.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Elicitation & Analysis:
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and document analysis to gather and understand business requirements.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicting viewpoints, and decompose high-level information into detailed requirements.
- Analyze business processes and identify areas for improvement, automation, and optimization.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive requirements traceability matrix.
Documentation & Communication:
- Create clear and concise documentation, including business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications, user stories, use cases, process flows, and data flow diagrams.
- Effectively communicate requirements to technical teams and ensure a shared understanding.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Solution Design & Implementation:
- Collaborate with technical teams to design solutions that meet business requirements.
- Participate in the testing process to ensure that solutions meet the defined requirements.
- Support the implementation of new systems and processes, including user training and documentation.
- Assist in the post-implementation review to identify areas for further improvement.
Project Management Support:
- Contribute to project planning by estimating effort and identifying dependencies.
- Track and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and escalate risks and issues related to requirements.
- Support the project manager in ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across various departments.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams.
- Proactively identify and address stakeholder needs and concerns.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve business analysis methodologies and processes.
- Contribute to the development of a business analysis center of excellence.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in requirements elicitation and documentation techniques.
- Experience with business process modeling and analysis tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Knowledge of SQL or other data analysis tools is a plus.
- Experience with [Specific Software/Systems relevant to the role] is a plus.
