Brief description of the Role:

Job title : Construction Manager

Division : Enviro

Qualification : DME / B.E. / (Mechanical/Electrical)

Experience : 13 -15 years

Location : Environment House-Pune

Roles & Responsibilities :

• To be responsible for the overall coordination, collaborative and integrated planning, implementation, execution, control & completion of the specific projects ensuring consistency with the divisional strategy, commitments & goals.
• Lead the planning & implementation of project. Ensure project completion as per plan and coordinate with the project manager for all upstream inputs.
• Undertake total responsibility for the completion of the construction work in the safest, quickest and most economical way, in order to meet the requirement of the contract.
• Identify the Project Risk and plan its mitigation well in advance.
• Define & develop full scale project construction planning including the L2/L3 construction schedule, resource mobilization plan, crane rigging plan, heavy lift studies, method statements etc.
• Select, Deploy and monitor various Contractors for the Project. Facilitate site mobilization, sub-contractor and their resources.
• Track and monitor project deliverables using appropriate tools & provide guidance and support to the project team and ensure its completion- PG test, Handing over as planned.
• Ensure Regular Review of projects with Construction Contractors Site Team with respect to Project Progress, Quality of the project, resource requirement and customer requirements.
• Manage project budgets and participate in Cost reviews with finance and provide reasons for variance. Payment Collections from Customers, Extra claim on Customer.
• Constantly monitor and report on progress to stake holders. Participate in cross functional meetings at HO, analyze critical path and Provide visibility into engineering and material status to site
• Identify problematic deign issues and make recommendations that support engineering procedures as well as ensure that the construction schedule is maintained.
• Responsible for management of site team including personnel matters, staff training and development.
• Ensure through onsite supervision that the construction works are undertaken to the required design specifications, standards and HSQE requirement
• Ensure maintenance of daily records of all site activities-Protocols, Installation Manual are followed, including information on labor and plant.
• Closure of projects including work activities, quality records, Contractual Commitments, Statutory and commercial Closure.

Critical competencies:

• Construction Project Management skills for schedule and cost monitoring
• Thorough Technical Knowledge of Air Pollution Control Systems like ESP, Bag filter /scrubbers-Site Activities, Erection Procedures, Latest construction techniques.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and processes.
• Legal, commercial and contract management knowledge
• Knowledge of Construction Quality management and standards.
• Communication skills along with man-management skills
• Ability to liason with consultants & corporates and handle conflicts and complaints
• Ability to assess risk & challenges and take proactive plans / actions to mitigate the same.
