Backend Java Developer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Backend Development: develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.

2. Microservices Architecture: implement microservices-based solutions using containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

3. Messaging and Event-Driven Architecture: Design and implement event-driven systems using Kafka for message streaming and processing.

4. Cloud Computing: Develop and deploy backend services on AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and ECS.

5. Continuous Integration and Deployment: Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for automated build, test, and deployment of backend services.

6. Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring and logging solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and CloudWatch to ensure system reliability and performance.

Skills:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java Spring-based applications using Postgres and Kafka.
• Knowledge on frameworks like Spark and Play would be an additional advantage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to maintain high quality code standards.
• Implement best practices for software development, testing, and deployment.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs to support product features and integrations.
• Contribute to the technical design and architecture of software systems.
• Continuously improve software engineering processes and methodologies.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Java Spring development. (Java version 8+)
• Experience of writing Unit and Integration Tests with framework like Junit and Mockito.
• Strong proficiency in Postgres and Kafka.
• Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Passionate for technology and software development.
