NOC Engineer - SolarWinds (3-5 yrs)

Job Title : NOC Engineer

Location : Bangalore

Responsibilities :

- Continuously monitor network devices, servers, and applications using network monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds) to identify potential issues and proactively address them.

- Detect, analyze, and troubleshoot network incidents, including outages, performance degradations, and security breaches.

- Follow established procedures for incident escalation and resolution.

- Diagnose and resolve network problems, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques to isolate root causes.

- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or other teams as needed.

- Respond to alerts generated by monitoring systems, prioritize incidents based on severity, and take appropriate action to resolve or mitigate the impact of incidents.

- Provide first-level technical support to internal and external users, answering inquiries and -resolving basic network connectivity issues.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

- Generate regular reports on network performance, availability, and incident trends.

- Work closely with other NOC engineers, system administrators, and other technical teams to ensure smooth network operations.

- Contribute to the development and improvement of NOC procedures, workflows, and best practices.

- Work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide 24/7 coverage.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls.

- Experience with network monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues.

- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.

- CCNA or Network+ certification is a plus
