SUMMARY
Steel Fixer Position Overview
- Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints to identify the necessary concrete reinforcement requirements.
- Choosing the appropriate type, size, and layout of steel bars or mesh for each project based on defined criteria.
- Preparing, cutting, and shaping steel reinforcement bars according to project specifications using various tools such as cutting torches, bending machines, or manual hand tools.
- Placing steel bars within concrete molds (formwork) to ensure structural integrity and securing them with wire to maintain proper alignment and spacing.
- Fastening steel bars with binding wire or welding to uphold their position during concrete pouring and constructing reinforcement cages for larger-scale projects.
- Ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards, including performing inspections and following safety protocols.
- Collaborating with fellow construction personnel and site supervisors to seamlessly integrate steel reinforcement into the overall construction process.
Requirements Requirements:
- Prior experience in steel fixing or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the safe handling of heavy materials.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
