About the role :

The Interactive Solutions business unit at Sportz Interactive provides fan engagement products geared towards Digital Transformation such as Websites, Apps, CMS, Fan Loyalty & Rewards, Match Centers and Gaming Solutions such as Fantasy Games, Quiz, Vote, Predictor, Digital Collectibles.

Sportz Interactive is looking for a passionate technologist to join their Interactive Solutions business unit and help with achieving the next leap in the organization's journey.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect, design, and implement Android applications using Java and Kotlin.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.

- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, conduct code reviews, advocate code quality and engineering best practices

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.

- Break down complex projects into manageable tasks and oversee their execution.

- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.

- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of Android developers while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

- Work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend teams to deliver seamless applications.

- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate updates to stakeholders.

- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Android development.

- Identify opportunities to optimize and modernize existing applications.

- Advocate for new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance productivity.

- Provide solutions for existing and new applications by understanding project requirements from inception to implementation and maintenance.

- Being involved with R & D, being aware of technology trends and managing a small-sized development team and providing mentorship.

- Providing On Call escalation support during marquee events and critical system deployments.

- Representing Sportz Interactive at client forums such as calls, meetings etc. as required

Background and Experience :

- Lead the development and maintenance of robust Android applications.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, guiding them in best practices and architectural decisions.

- 6+ years of experience in Android app development, with a minimum of 3 years using Kotlin.

- Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin.

- Expertise in Android SDK, Jetpack components, and design patterns (e.g. , MVI, MVVM)

- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party libraries (e.g. , Retrofit, Dagger/Hilt, Room).

- Familiarity with Compose, Coroutines, and Flow.

- Understanding and application of SOLID principles.

- Experience in creating and maintaining Android libraries or SDKs, versioning, and publishing to Maven/Jit Pack.

- Proficiency in version control systems like Git, GitHub

- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.

- Experience with unit testing (e.g. , JUnit, Mockito).

- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, optimization techniques, and app security

- Proficient with Project Management tools like JIRA and Agile methodology.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including designers, product managers, and senior management, to gather requirements and provide project updates.

- Proactively identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to address them, leveraging strong problem-solving skills and industry best practices.
