Experianced Solar Water Pump Technician/Engineer

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for Experienced Engineers to work & lead teams on Solar Water Pumps project in Africa. Candidate should be willing to relocate, travel and work in Africa for minimum 1 year. Candidate should have ready Passport to Travel. Also, Candidate have experienced in project management, Workforce management, Structure Design and Structure installation for Solar Water Pump.

The candidate will work on Solar Water Pump installation, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, interaction with Agencies/ Manufacturers/ System Integrators/ other stakeholders, coordinating technical & market related activities and reporting to the H.O.

Core Skills

-Site Survey and Selection of Site

-Prepare site feasibility report (Foundation Design)

-Selection of Solar PV System

-Design Criteria for Solar PV System

-Preparation Material Requirement

-Construct the foundation for the solar PV system unit
-Wiring connections
-Installation of Mounting structure and Solar panel
-Commissioning and Testing
-Repair and Maintenance of Solar PV System

-Checking and Identifying the Different Faults in the Solar Panel System

-Reporting in job completion form after installation activities have been completed

-Understanding product, equipment manuals and installation manuals

-Reading warnings, instructions and other text material on product labels, components

-Discussion task lists, schedules, and work-loads with Customer/farmers and co-workers

-Question Customer appropriately to understand the nature of the problem and make a diagnosis

-Communicating & instructing to Customer/farmers

-Basic plumbing fittings (valves, clamps, elbows, etc.) and basic fixtures (sprinklers, taps, etc.)

-Basic awareness of techniques related to cutting, bending and joining of fittings and fixtures relevant hand and power tools

-Basic units of measuring

Knowledge Required:-

Working principles of solar-powered water pumping systems

DC, AC & other Different Types of Pumps

Function of Various Capacity/ Design of Pump Controllers VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) panel

Block diagram of a solar PV system with Solar unit, Junction box, Charge controller, Inverter.

The quantity of modules / panels match the voltage/power requirement of the system

Mounting Structure for solar panel

Installation procedure of solar pump including Submersible Pump Boring Size

Earthling & Lightning Arrestor

Decide on the workforce required and arrange for team

Preferred candidate profile

-3-5 years of experience in designing, Handle and worked on ground mounted solar water pump projects

-Solar PV Energy sector
