ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Maintenance Manager
1) Create preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure that all equipment, machinery, and systems are running optimally.
2) Allocate resources (human, material, and financial) effectively to ensure maintenance work is carried out efficiently.
3) Organize and prioritize emergency maintenance when critical systems fail, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
4) Lead, manage, and support a team of technicians, mechanics, and other maintenance personnel.
5) Provide training on new equipment, safety protocols, and best maintenance practices. Ensure the team has the necessary skills for their tasks.
6) Monitor and assess team performance, providing feedback and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner.
7) Ensure the availability of essential spare parts, tools, and equipment for maintenance tasks.
8) Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of repair versus replacement of equipment and machinery.
9) Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Ensure the team uses the proper protective gear and follows safety protocols.
10) Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
11) Stay informed about local and national regulations related to maintenance activities and ensure the organization remains in compliance.
12) Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment conditions.
13) Provide regular updates on the status of maintenance work, budget spending, and equipment performance to senior management.
14) Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, mean time to repair (MTTR), and maintenance costs.
15) Oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and other equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
16) Manage the maintenance of buildings and facilities, ensuring they meet operational needs and remain compliant with health and safety regulations.
17) Work with external vendors and contractors to source parts, services, and other maintenance-related requirements.
18) Continuously evaluate maintenance processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement, aiming for greater efficiency and reduced downtime.
19) Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, incorporating new tools and methods that improve maintenance operations.
20) Work closely with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, and operations) to align maintenance activities with business goals and minimize downtime
21) Act swiftly in situations of system failures, breakdowns, or emergencies to minimize operational disruptions and implement corrective actions.
22) Ensure the maintenance team can respond to critical situations to maintain business operations without significant delays.
23) Implement energy-efficient and environmentally friendly practices in maintenance activities, promoting sustainability.
24) Ensure the proper disposal of hazardous materials and waste generated during maintenance work, in line with environmental regulations.
25) All the roles and responsibilities are applicable across all SLN group concerns and include any other responsibilities allocated by the reporting manager from time to time
26) Operate within the allocated departmental budget and ensure timely provisions for expenses. Any deviations from the approved budget must be authorized through the proper channels.
27) Adhere to the SLN Code of Conduct issued on December 1, 2024, and ensure that all team members under your supervision do the same.
28) Understand that roles and responsibilities may be updated at any time to align with evolving business needs.
29) Be prepared to take on additional or alternative assignments, provided they are safe and within reasonable expectations.
