Electrical & Instrumentation Manager

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 12-15 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering. The job involves review of Tender requirements, suggesting safe and efficient electrical systems in absence of client specifications, suggest optimizations, interface with client and their consultant for review and approval of design documents, sizinglayout of electrical equipment, Costing of electrical systems, supervision of site execution commissioning etc. Past experience *in Power Plant would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cable Tray Routing:

o Design and implement efficient cable tray routing solutions.

o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

o Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to optimize routing paths.

2. Cable Length Calculation:

o Accurately calculate cable lengths required for various projects.

o Utilize software tools and manual methods for precise measurements.

o Document calculations and provide clear communication to the procurement team.

3. LT HT Panel Selection:

o Select appropriate LT (Low Tension) and HT (High Tension) panels for different applications.

o Conduct load analysis and ensure panels meet the necessary specifications.

o Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality and compliance.

4. Switchgear Knowledge:

o Demonstrate in-depth understanding of switchgear components and their applications.

o Perform regular inspections and maintenance of switchgear systems.

o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to switchgear.

5. Sizing Calculation:

o Conduct sizing calculations for cables, transformers, and other electrical components.

o Ensure all sizing is compliant with safety standards and regulations.

o Provide detailed reports and documentation of calculations.

6. Costing (Added Advantage):

o Estimate project costs and prepare budgets for electrical engineering components.

o Track and manage expenses to stay within budgetary constraints.

o Work closely with the finance team to provide accurate financial projections.

7. General:

o Candidate should be aware about laws pertaining to Generation and distribution of electricity and Grid Code. Actual experience of getting Electrical Inspector approval for an installation would be an advantage.

o Sound knowledge of Electrical protections, Relay coordination studies is required.

o Should have knowledge of sizing and selection of cables, Motors, Switch gears, Transformers, Battery and Battery systems, DC supply systems, metering systems, Bus ducts,

o Should be able to conceptualize electrical equipment layouts in close coordination with other discipline to achieve optimum cost.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or related field. A master s degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CAD software and other electrical design tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• Experience with project management software.
• Certifications: Relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
