SAP Senior Consultant (ABAP on HANA)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with expertise in SAP HANA and advanced ABAP techniques. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ABAP 7.4 or higher syntax, ABAP debugging, performance tools, runtime analysis, and SQL trace. This role will require proficiency in ABAP workbench, data dictionary, classical and interactive reports using ALV, dialog programming, and object-oriented programming. The candidate should also have experience in data migration, data uploads using BDC, BAPI, and additional experience in CDS/AMDP/U15 is a plus.
As a technical expert, you will be responsible for identifying application issues and providing timely solutions, performing performance tuning activities, and mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:
1. ABAP Development:
o Write efficient and scalable ABAP code on SAP HANA platform using ABAP 7.4 or newer syntax.
o Develop classical and interactive reports using ALV and dialog programming.
o Work with object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts to design robust applications.
o Create and maintain SmartForms for printing and reporting purposes.
o Handle data migration and data uploads using BDC, BAPI, and other integration techniques.
2. Advanced Techniques:
o Perform advanced ABAP debugging using tools like SQL trace, runtime analysis, and performance tuning tools.
o Ensure system optimization by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
o Develop and manage RFC (Remote Function Call) implementations, batch reports, and other SAP integration components.
3. System Analysis & Design:
o Participate in system analysis, design, development, and implementation activities.
o Create technical specifications, business requirement documents, and test scenarios for the development process.
o Ensure that business function requirements are translated into technical program specifications for development, testing, and debugging.
4. Testing & Quality Assurance:
o Develop and execute unit tests, system integration tests, and acceptance tests for high-complexity functions.
o Provide testing tools and scripts to ensure thorough testing of developed functionalities.
5. Mentorship & Leadership:
o Mentor and coach junior developers to enhance their technical skills and overall performance.
o Ensure high-quality standards by guiding the team on best practices and efficient coding methodologies.
6. Multitasking & Project Management:
o Manage multiple deliverables and projects simultaneously.
o Collaborate with functional teams to ensure alignment between technical and business requirements.
7. Performance Tuning & Optimization:
o Undertake performance tuning activities to improve system performance across SAP integration points.
o Provide timely solutions to optimize system performance and efficiency.

Desired Skills & Experience:
1. ABAP Expertise:
o Extensive experience in ABAP development (7+ years).
o Strong working knowledge of ABAP workbench, data dictionary, and creating classical and interactive reports using ALV.
o In-depth knowledge of SmartForms, BDC, BAPI, and data migration techniques.
2. Advanced ABAP Skills:
o Expertise in ABAP 7.4+ syntax and advanced debugging tools (SQL trace, runtime analysis, performance tools).
o Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex ABAP code for optimal performance.
3. SAP HANA & Advanced Development:
o Experience with SAP HANA and ABAP on HANA is a must.
o Experience with Core Data Services (CDS), ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), and U15 development is an advantage.
4. Technical Leadership:
o Ability to mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge to improve team performance.
o Strong communication skills to effectively interact with business and technical teams.
5. Project Management & Multitasking:
o Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage multiple deliverables/projects simultaneously.
o Proficient in preparing technical specifications, business documents, and testing scenarios.
6. System Optimization:
o Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and apply performance tuning techniques for SAP integrations.
