Job Title: Production Engineer – Switchgear Industry

Reports To: Group Leader - Production / Plant Manager

Location: Noida, Phase - 2

Job Summary

The Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing processes within the switchgear industry. This role involves planning production schedules, monitoring workflow, ensuring product quality, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams—including design, quality assurance, maintenance, and procurement—to maintain high efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop and implement production schedules that meet customer demand and production targets.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless production flow.

Process Optimization & Improvement:

• Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Utilize data analytics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive process improvements.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Ensure production activities adhere to industry standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI) and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to monitor product quality and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain documentation of production processes, quality metrics, and process changes.

Equipment & Maintenance Coordination:

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
• Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Liaise with the maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.

Cost Control & Resource Management:

• Monitor production costs and implement measures to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
• Manage material usage and inventory levels to ensure cost-effective production.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to production operations.

Team Collaboration & Training:

• Work closely with production staff and other departments to ensure clear communication and alignment of production goals.
• Provide training and technical support to production teams on new processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous learning on the production floor.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• 2-7 years of experience in production engineering, preferably in the switchgear, electrical panel, or related manufacturing industry.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, process optimization, and quality control practices is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in using manufacturing software, ERP systems, and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of production processes, machinery operations, and equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements applicable to switchgear manufacturing.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

• Primarily based on the production floor with occasional office work.
• Exposure to a manufacturing environment, which may include noise, temperature variations, and the need for personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Standard office hours, with potential for shift work or extended hours during peak production periods.
