Job Description

EY GDS - Data and Analytics (D&A) - Data Engineer (Azure) - Senior Consultant

Your Key

Design, develop, and deploy data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other related tools.
Implement and optimize ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data processing
Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to gather requirements and align technical solutions with business goals
Optimize data models and query performance for large-scale data processing in Azure
Develop data pipelines and workflows integrating cloud and on-premises systems
Ensure scalability, security, and performance of Azure-based data solutions
Participate in data governance and quality assurance processes

Skills and Attributes for Success

4-5 years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Engineering with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse Analytics
Strong expertise in ETL development, data migration, and cloud-based data processing
Proficiency in Python and experience with ETL tools.
Hands-on experience with SQL, procedural SQL, and performance tuning
Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and cloud-based analytics
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering solutions
Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex data processing issues
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on efficiency and scalability

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

A degree in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Primary skills 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure (with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics) on any major cloud platform.
Secondary skills Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one ETL tool.
Prior experience in Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, or Manufacturing domains preferred
Azure Data Engineer certification is preferred
Experience with Agile methodologies is preferred.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
Commitment to software development best practices.
Proficient in debugging and optimizing enterprise-level applications.
Capable of translating business challenges into robust technical solutions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience in managing client relationships and understanding client needs.
