Senior Specialist - Vendor Development

Job Requirements
Collaborate with various teams to understand product requirements and parts specications
Identify potential suppliers and send RFQ to them based on part design and bill of materials received from current engineering team
Liaise with vendors/ suppliers on a regular basis for sourcing of components and parts
Gauge capability of suppliers by conducting design for manufacturing (DFM) discussions with suppliers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify modications/ changes required and work towards reducing rejection rates of incoming parts
Review order status and ensure adherence to Direct on line targets and business plan targets/vehicle
Calculate target costing for components in collaboration with the Cost Management team and ensure that proposed suppliers meet the target band
Evaluate performance and propose suppliers based on suitable evaluation in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team
Provide technical guidance (mechanical and engineering feedback) to shortlisted suppliers in order to meet component reliability, supply chain eciency and overall cost reduction
Supervise supplier quality engineers responsible for component release; conduct component inspection audits
Resolve quality issues and monitor corrective procedures as per guidelines specied by quality assurance
Ensure completion of the Product Part Approval process in collaboration with Current Engineering and Quality assurance team
Ensure a smooth handover to procurement team for sourcing material for start of production runs
Should have experience in development of Cells, Battery Packs and other Battery Pack child parts, Chargers, DC-DC Converters
Experience in Cell sourcing, Price settlements & RM indexing of cells is added advantage
Should have experience in EV Parts Sourcing, Vendor Development, Costing, Negotiation and Price Settlement
Should have the exposure in Cost estimation for the Battery Pack & Chargers, DC-DC Converters
Technical understanding on Battery Pack assembly / Manufacturing, BMS assy, Hardware and Software and Chargers
Ability to understand the Battery engineering & BMS, drgs and performance curves
E- Component , connectors & contactors knowledge
Should have the knowledge on Supplier base on EV components (Proto & Mass Production)
Awareness of Market Trends, Domestic & Global govt policies, Impact analysis, Competitive Benchmark data, Market Intelligence
Awareness on Automotive standards / Testing related to Cells, Battery Packs, BMS, Thermals etc.,
Working knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)
SAP MM & PLM user experience

Work Experience
Education:

Bachelors Engineering degree Electrical & Electronics / Power Electronics / ECE

Experience:

10 + years experience in the vendor development function in the automobile industry (OEMs, ancillaries)
Working knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)
SAP MM & PLM user experience
