Position: Python Developer (Sprint Developer Data Migration)

Location: Offshore

Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, and PyODBC.

Experience with REST APIs and integration tools to interact with Oracle Cloud or other services.

Knowledge of database queries and scripting for Oracle, Cassandra, and HANA.

Familiarity with tools like Oracle Data Pump, GoldenGate, or OCI Data Integration.

Version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Python Developer to join our data migration team for an exciting and complex project involving the migration of data from SAP HANA, Cassandra, and Oracle databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). As a Python Sprint Developer, you will focus on developing efficient, scalable scripts, tools, and automation frameworks that support the data migration process. This is a high-impact role that requires problem-solving, collaboration, and deep technical expertise in Python and data engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Python Development for Migration Tools:

• Design, develop, and optimize Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from SAP HANA, Cassandra, and Oracle databases.
• Build automation frameworks to streamline and standardize data migration tasks.

2. Sprint Execution:

• Participate in Agile sprint planning, delivering high-quality, sprint-based development outputs aligned with project goals.
• Implement quick iterations and incremental improvements to address migration challenges and requirements.

3. Data Processing & Transformation:

• Write efficient Python code to process and transform large datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Develop custom solutions to handle schema mapping, data cleansing, and format transformations between legacy systems and Oracle Cloud.

4. Collaboration with Migration Team:

• Work closely with database administrators, architects, and other stakeholders to align development work with overall migration strategies.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to ensure the Python-based tools integrate seamlessly into the broader data migration process.

5. Testing & Debugging:

• Develop unit tests and perform debugging to ensure Python scripts are reliable and maintainable.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to performance, scalability, and data consistency.

6. Documentation:

• Document Python code, frameworks, and processes to ensure clarity and reusability for future migrations and enhancements.
• Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of Python development experience, with a focus on ETL pipelines and data engineering.
• Experience in large-scale data migration projects, particularly involving SAP HANA, Cassandra, and Oracle databases.
