Job Description : BSS Operation Lead

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Operations lead experience in telecom BSS space, both provisioning and charging domains., the position is a crucial link between Operations, QAE, Engineering team and E2E designers.

2. Engage with Operations team to understand their requirement and technical needs and service them with best possible solutions by discussing with Engineering team.

3. Manage & handle operational issue promptly and involve Engineering team and vendors as and when needed.

4. Hands-on experience in BSS Operation and designing roles and having understanding for BSS components like CRM, Mediation, OCS, Rating, Collection, Orchestration, Provisioning/Activation for mobile Post-paid and prepaid services etc.

5. Strong understanding of E2E journey & Process across Fulfilment, Assurance, Inventory management & Product catalogue.

6. Excellent working experience on product catalogue, prepaid recharges, wallet management and voucher management

7. Understanding of 4G/5G Core network elements and its integration with BSS components.

8. Understanding for BSS cloud-based architecture would be added advantage.

9. Hands-on experience in LTE/5G technology, protocols, PCAP traces etc.

10. Gathers and documents the outcome of test executions and all information needed to support ongoing measurements and reporting on risks, defects, tests, and coverage.

11. Coordinates with Development and Infra teams on the resolution of issues, overseeing the testing progress and ensuring that high standards of quality are being met.

12. Compares and analyses system behaviour vs. expected results/KPIs based on business and technical requirements.

13. Identifies issues, proposes system improvements, and performs repetitive test execution to resolve identified issues.

14. Participates in and contributes to internal design reviews of testing materials.

15. Lead Operation team and guide team to improve proactive in monitoring.

Skills and Experience :

1. In-depth knowledge across BSS/OSS systems from lead generation to order creation, order orchestration, product catalogue, inventory management, order fulfilment, SIM management, OTA, DMC, USSD G/w, activation and Charging, Mediation, mobile number portability, and knowledge of network elements like HLR, HSS, UDR, SMSC, Entitlement Server, SMDP+.

2. Experience providing operational support for product like Service Order Manager (SOM), Provisioning Gateway (ProvGW), Charging system (CCS) etc.

3. Knowledge of System integration lifecycle for a full stack BSS/OSS implementation and having experience of delivering minimum two BSS transformation project for Global telecom operators providing GSM/CDMA, 4G/5G, Broadband services.

4. Excellent knowledge of SQL queries and Linux is a must.

5. Essential ability to connect to systems and services deployed in cloud environment on Kubernetes or on virtual machines and perform diagnostics.

6. Excellent knowledge of 3GPP & IETF charging principles for online/offline charging

7. Strong knowledge of 3GPP charging interfaces of 4G/ 5G e.g Sy, Gy , Ro, Nchf

8. Strong knowledge of mobile and fixed-wireless products charging and billing.

9. Strong understanding of E2E journey & Process across Fulfilment, Assurance, Inventory management &

Product catalogue.

10. Knowledge on provisioning/onboarding use cases for LTE/5G data usage, Calling, eSIM/pSIM, FWA devices, Mobility devices.

11. Troubleshooting experience for different network related integrations over Telecom domain like Load Balancer, Firewall, etc.

12. Hands on test experience of Billing, Charging, Order Orchestration & Catalogue.

Hands-on experience in Linux, SOAP, DB, API testing. Experienced in CRM, Mediation, Charging, Billing, Mediation, Unix, SQL, SOAP UI, Agile, JIRA, Postman

13. Most of the experience should be in telecom domain/projects.

14. Basic knowledge of XMLS/web services using soap UI is an added advantage.

15. Basic knowledge/experience of working in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

16. Strategic Thinking Skills, Analytical Skills, Well-developed Communication Skills

17. Leadership Skills - ability to work with and lead a team of operations engineers, including coaching/mentoring/monitoring and delegation.

Good to have skills :

1. Knowledge on RADCOM, JMS, Kafka, other integration technologies.

2. Knowledge on Database technologies like MySQL, Mongo, PostgreSQL.

3. Knowledge on no-sql databases like Yugabyte.

4. Knowledge on Cloud native architecture and concepts Docker, Containerization and have done cloud

native solution deployment.

5. Experience with CHF, HLR, HSS, UDR would be an added advantage.
